The ad starts with LeBron James sitting in a chair, presumably waiting for “The Decision” to begin. LeBron asks the camera, “What should I do? Should I admit I made mistakes?” It’s then a rapid-fire collection of different questions and scenes that don’t give us any time to answer. There’s LeBron as Charles Barkley, LeBron as a cowboy villain, LeBron as a construction worker, and LeBron at an empty Hall of Fame ceremony.
So, what does this tell us about LeBron?
Well, he’s one confused narcissist. As the spot ends, LeBron asks us, “Should I be who you want me to be?” But he’s sort of mocking us. LeBron wants us all to know that he only does what he wants—but therein lies the problem. If he doesn’t care what we think, then why is he filming this commercial? Can you really be that independent-minded when you’re so desperate for everyone’s attention? It has to be one or the other, LeBron.
Hopefully the ad is one last pop and fizzle in the “Months of LeBron.” The NBA tips off tonight and LeBron will play his first game for the Heat. And that’s all that really matters, right?
Way to go David! You must be a Heat fan which means you fall under what Tyler said your a flaming douche? How about telling us why this is the worst article ever? Anyway I hope Dwayne Wades team doesn’t make the playoff’s
Worst article ever get life.
Exactly! It’s really easy to pull the I-Don’t-Care-What-You-Think card when everyone thinks you’re a flaming douche.
If guys like LeBron and Kanye truly aren’t here to impress anyone, they wouldn’t constantly be putting on a self-aggrandizing show.
