Marilyn Manson and Annabeth Gish join the cast in the seventh and final season of ‘Sons Of Anarchy.’
Sons of Anarchy announced two important additions for it’s seventh and final season, musician Marilyn Manson and actress Annabeth Gish. Gish will play the role of Althea Jarry, the tough no nonsense new sheriff of Charming and will be a foil to Katey Sagal’s Gemma Morrow. Meanwhile, Manson has been cast in the recurring role of Ron Tully, a connected white supremacist prison leader whom Jax Teller, SAMCRO Club President, needs to expand his power base. Marilyn Manson is known, by most, for selling millions of records, being a successful writer, painter, performer and provocateur. He has also made many cameos in films and television. With the creation of a new album and while launching a world tour, he grabbed the attention of SOA creator, Kurt Sutter.
“Sons has been such a big part of my life, as well as my father’s,” said Manson. “So I was determined to make him proud by being involved in what will probably be remembered as the most amazing piece of television cinema. After all, the very heart of SOA is about that relationship. So, now all I need is a motorcycle.”
Annabeth Gish (X-Files, FX’s The Bridge) will portray Sheriff Jarry, who after heading Stockton’s Organized Crime Unit looks to solve the shocking double homicides of her predecessor Sheriff Eli Roosevelt (Rockmond Dunbar) and Tara Knowles (Maggie Siff) in the Season 6 finale. The Bridge’s actress’ arrival in Charming could be Gemma Morrow’s (Sagal) swan song for brutally murdering her own daughter in law. Sheriff Jarry will be working alongside the SAMCRO bikers in the familiar Charming arrangement to “keep the peace” counting on the club’s cooperation in solving Tara’s (Jax’s wife) savage slaying. Unbeknownst to the motorcycle club, the brotherhood will also have to abide by the tough female sheriff’s new rules, which the macho biker club will undoubtedly chafe under.
Gish’s Sheriff Jarry, will not appear in the Season 7 premiere. She’s pulling double duty on her other acclaimed FX drama, The Bridge, which I’m pleased is returning for its second season this fall. Gish is the opportunistic widow Charlotte Millwright, on that excellent crime-based drama. Kurt Sutter, SOA series creator and executive producer, announced via Twitter that filming commenced on the final season of Sons of Anarchy earlier this week. Die hard fans of the much beloved show who are awaiting justice to be rendered for Tara and the ultimate outcome of Jax and the Sons will have to wait until September 2014, only on FX network.
