Alex Yarde shares the first pictures of Batfleck in the new Batsuit.

Director Zack Snyder caught the world flatfooted with a photo of Affleck in the new Batsuit. On Twitter yesterday Snyder gave a glimpse of the Batmoblie covered saying, “It could be time to pull the tarp off.” Everybody expected the Batmobile reveal today.
No one expected Batfleck in cape and cowl. The suit appears to be homage to both the New 52 Jim Lee comic book suit and Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns. Meanwhile the Batmobile is the offspring of Batman: Arkham Asylum video game and my personal favorite the Bat hot rod of Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman.
The most shrinking aspect for me is the dark, somber tone of the pic. It points to the direction of Mr. Affleck’s “world weary, seasoned warrior” take on Batman, downcast gaze, in a steam filled, abandoned warehouse pulled straight out of nightmarish tales of the Dark Knight like Long Halloween or Hush.
This single picture makes Christopher Nolan’s Batman Trilogy look like sunshine and rainbows. I’m even more excited for Batman vs. Superman What do you think of Batflecks new suit? Sound off in the comments!

and i’m in!
Neal Adams who drew the 70s Batman comics said it made no sense for the Batmobile to look like a tank as the Dark Knight Tumbler did. He said an ordinary looking sportscar would blend in more easily and not draw so much attention. In his Batman Odyssey series he did give it jet turbines in the wheels like the SHIELD flying cars.
It’s a passionate subject for nerds & geeks alike, and people will love it or hate it, but I am in the latter category. I see no need for Batman to have veins moulded into his armor (which is laughably dumb, by the way), or for his body to be so huge and steroid-y. Batman is a martial arts expert, not a professional wrestler. There is NO need (aside from the ever-growing chasm between expectations of men’s bodies vs. the reality) for those unrealistic proportions.
