Spoken word artist Christopher Michael has a few serious questions he wants to ask Miley Cyrus.
Christopher Michael, a poet from Austin, Texas (by way of Cleveland, Ohio) dropped a poem about Miley Cyrus that has more than a few people on the internet talking. Cyrus’s cultural appropriation for latest album, Bangerz has been talked about before. But we haven’t heard from any Black spoken word performers about Cyrus…until now. Besides taking Miley to task, Christopher “asks” her questions about what she thinks the term “Black” means. Behold, the fury of Mr. Michael.

So, Christopher (may I call you that): You don’t think Miley is sexy, as if that justifies your remarks. Frankly, that line objectifies “Miss Cyrus” in a way that is not worthy of the theme of this web site and is not a good look for you. I don’t dig when people criticize her right to be a sexual being and express herself that way, but I can absolutely get behind this.
