Russian officer follows the crows to solve a missing persons case.
Around 400 police officers were dispatched to help find a lost child, but they were no match for one avid Game of Thrones fan.
Officers searched all the typical places for 3 year old Alexandra Spirkina, who went missing in the Russian city of Omsk two days earlier.
The police were employing state of the art thermal imaging equipment to search the rural area for Spirkina, but Cairo Nurmagambetov, 47, used a lesson she had learned from a Game of Thrones episode.
After noticing a large group of crows circling a spot in a corn field, she knew there must be something important in there.
Nurmagambetov didn’t wait for a rescue team, and instead went through the stalks to look for Spirkina herself. Luckily her personal investigation paid off, and she found the young girl safe, although scared.
“I knew that the crows meant there was something happening. I drove towards them and when I got there I saw the girl who was walking across the field. She was crying and calling for her dad.”
Game of Thrones might be a fantasy series, but clearly it can help in some real-life situations.
