The Newest Ghostbusters trailer is here chock full of new footage, freaky ghosts and better humor
I have been unsure about the Ghostbusters reboot pretty much since I heard it was being made. When I saw the first photos surface online the cast looked cool yet there wasn’t much to make me excited for this film. When I saw the Ghostbusters teaser trailer my hopes for this film being any good went right out the window. I hated the flat humor, there was nothing to make me excited for this new film and the cast just didn’t appear to work well together. Thankfully a new Ghostbusters trailer has been released online and here is what I thought of it.
You can read the plot for Ghostbusters here:
“Erin Gilbert (Kristen Wiig) and Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy) are a pair of unheralded authors who write a book positing that ghosts are real. A few years later, Gilbert lands a prestigious teaching position at Columbia University, but her book resurfaces and she is laughed out of academia. When ghosts invade Manhattan, Gilbert reunites with Yates, teaming up with a nuclear engineer, Jillian Holtzmann (Kate McKinnon), and a subway worker, Patty Tolan (Leslie Jones), to try to rid New York of ghosts that can possess humans.”
I don’t hate this new Ghostbusters trailer. It is not the best trailer I have seen but it definitely is a heck of a lot better than the teaser in so many ways. It is like the people who made it took a long look at the teaser and learned what not to do this time around to make it at least enjoyable to watch and kind of fun. It is not a trailer that will change everyone’s minds but it gives me some hope for this reboot. It is nice to finally hear Chris Hemsworth’s character speak a bit and to find out he has a bigger part to play in this reboot than people were led to believe by the teaser. There are a lot more ghosts and honestly they look better and some of them are truly frightening. I am also thankful that the humor is much better this time. There are still some silly jokes and the humor is not hilarious but it sure isn’t painful to hear either. Overall this Ghostbusters reboot is given a better image this time around and hopefully means this will at least be a fun film when it comes out this June. You can find updates on this new Ghostbusters movie on Facebook and Twitter.
