Finally we get to hear the all the animals speak in the new ‘The Jungle Book’ trailer and they sound great
The Jungle Book is a series that has had a number of different versions. There was the animated version that Disney made in the 1960s which was good because it told the story in a way that all ages could enjoy and understand. There was a live action version in 1994 which had more adult themes and told the story of Mowgli as an adult but still did pretty well at the box office. In February 2003 there was a direct to video film entitled The Jungle Book 2 which was not bad but didn’t do as well as its predecessors. Now there is a live action version coming out this year that Disney is helming and Jon Favreau is set to direct. The newest trailer was released during the Super Bowl and here is what we have learned about this film.
Mowgli (Neel Sethi) is a boy who was raised by the wolves Raksha (Lupita Nyong’o) and Akela (Giancarlo Esposito). When the fearsome Bengal tiger Shere Khan (Idris Elba) threatens his life Mowgli is forced to leave his jungle home. Guided by Bagheera the black panther (Ben Kingsley) and Baloo the bear (Bill Murray) he sets off on a journey of self-discovery. Along the way he runs into Kaa a very huge python (Scarlett Johannson) who tries to eat the man cub. He also bumps into the smooth-talking King Louie (Christopher Walken) a gargantuan ape who promises to help him if he tells him the secret of mans red flower. It will be a long and perilous journey to get to safety and there will be plenty of dangers along the way. Why does Shere Khan hate man so much? How far will he go to capture him? And will Baloo and Bagheera be able to get Mowgli to safety in time?
This new trailer is absolutely amazing! It is the first time we finally get to hear the animals speak and most of the are right on point. Ben Kingsley, Bill Murray and Idris Elba fit their roles perfectly and bring the tone that is needed to bring them to life. This writer is not fully pleased with Christopher Walken though, his voice seems out of place for a character that is so huge and menacing. Overall this is the best trailer we have seen yet and it truly gives so many good reasons to run out and see this movie.
