Give ‘Em Hell features guest spots from Duff, John 5.
The first time I saw Skid Row their quintuple platinum debut album hadn’t even been released. They were well known already though, thanks to guitarist Snake Sabo’s association with Bon Jovi and lead singer Sebastian Bach’s connection to Axl Rose. They tore it up that night, and I left with no doubt that the band, and especially their front man, were going to be huge.
And they were, but then as often happens the band split. Baz knocked around the C-List for a while, starring in cruddy reality weight loss shows and the like. A funny thing happened, though: He became even more endearing to those of us who spent our childhoods among The Guys In Black Tee Shirts Who Jam. Like Dave Grohl, Baz revealed himself as a superfan, on of us but on the other side of the looking glass. Sebastian Bach is our proxy into the rarefied world of rock superstardom.
Now in his mid-forties, Baz hasn’t lost any of his enthusiasm for crunchy riffs, AC/DC album covers, and a wailing chorus. Give ‘Em Hell, set for release on April 22, is a twelve song set of rockers guaranteed to rattle the Posi Traction on your Camaro. Bach says:
I could not be more proud of the new CD, Give ‘Em Hell. As a rock music fan myself, I listen to it every single day. As a musician, I honestly feel like I have reached a new level of album recording. As an audiophile, I could not be more blown away by the sound! The production and mastering sound so good that it’s perfect to show off your high-end stereo system. Ever since my first record, Skid Row, on through Slave to the Grind up to Kicking & Screaming and Angel Down, I have always been concerned, first and foremost, with making quality records for my fans. And I can honestly say that Give ‘Em Hell meets or even exceeds the standards set by some of the records I have put out in the past. I can’t wait for you all to hear this record! Let’s GIVE ‘EM HELL in 2014 Mother Truckers!”
Produced, mixed and recorded by Bob Marlette (Black Sabbath, Shinedown, Alice Cooper) and mastered by Tom Baker (Nine Inch Nails, Rob Zombie, Seether), Give ‘Em Hell features writing and playing by very special friends and guest stars: Duff McKagan (Velvet Revolver, Guns N’ Roses), John 5 (Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie) and Steve Stevens (Billy Idol). Rounding up the lineup on the album are Devin Bronson on guitars and Bobby Jarzombek on drums.
