See how the man became a monster in this first trailer and some of the terrible things he creates
The story of Frankenstein is a well known one. There have been a few books written about this creature and a few contemporary film versions have been made. But none of these films have been directed entirely on the man himself until now. Victor Frankenstein is gong to take a whack at looking at this famous doctor and his trusty sidekick Igor in a way that looks pretty amazing to this writer.
This film actually will be told from the perspective of Igor (Daniel Radcliffe), the trusty assistant to Victor Frankenstein (James McAvoy). It takes a look at how these two men met, how their friendship developed and how Victor built his dream of pushing the limits of science in his era. It leads to the climatic moment when Victor and Igor create a creature that turns out to be more trouble than they ever planned it to be. The experiments they are doing catch the eyes of the local authorities and they run danger of becoming fugitives to use science in ways no one else ever thought possible. What made Victor want to attempt these experiments? Why was he so eager to push the limits of science this way? And what kind of accounts can Igor add to this already pretty well known tale?
This film looks pretty cool. The special effects seem astounding in this trailer and Daniel and James are a great fit for these characters. The sets and costumes fit perfectly into the location and time period and should make for a stellar movie. The story has been told many ways but this one hopefully should breath fresh life when it comes out. It will not be a movie for young kids but adults who are a fan of Frankenstein will not want to miss this picture.
If you are a fan of these two stars you should definitely run out and see this movie. If you want to see a good horror this is the movie to watch. It is not always a bad thing to look at a familiar story from a different perspective and this writer thinks this risk will pay off. Victor Frankenstein comes out November 25, 2015.
