About Debbie Rutt
Debbie Rutt started gardening with the women at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility, and teaching service learning at Portland State University in 2009, while she was on what was originally intended to be a short break from public health dentistry. In 2011 she was awarded an Audubon/Toyota Together Green Fellowship. Debbie is still gardening at the prison in her current role as garden coordinator for Oregon Public Health’s Healthy Food Access Project.
