Part of life is learning when to be proud and when to be ashamed. For actor Stephen Fry, being gay is part of the former.
Stephen Fry wears a great many hats; he is a an actor, screenwriter, playwright, journalist, director, comedian, and he’s British. Mr. Fry is also a gay man and in this Proud2Be he explains why he is proud of that fact. While he is proud of many of his accomplishments he also ashamed, like all of us, of times in his life where he acted in ways that were stubborn or judgmental. What he is not ashamed of is being gay because one should not be ashamed of who they are or who they love.
Stephen F. has also come to terms with his bi-polar-disorder in a public way: he made a documentary about it, “The Secret Life of a Manic-Depressive”. It’s a very informative and poignant look at both his own troubles and how many other people have the same trouble but are reluctant to admit it. It’s available on Youtube.
