Inspired by the music of Prince, poet Andy Hall offers these commandments.
—
- Thou shalt dance in the purple rain.
- Thou shalt never take the place of thy neighbor’s man.
- Thou shalt die for me.
- Thou shalt go crazy.
- Thou shalt wear a raspberry beret.
- Thou shalt party like it’s 1999.
- Thou shalt be a sexy motherfucker.
- Thou shalt give me diamonds and pearls.
- Thou shalt driveth a little red corvette.
- Thou shalt takest me with thou and always remain funky.
How has Prince inspired you?

So this guy goes the doctor. The doctor asks, what’s your problem today?
The guy scrinches his body into some ungodly shape, whimpering – and then starts banging his face against the wall at the same time, which quickly bloodies his face and makes his whimpering turn into screams.
And THEN he says to the doc: Doctor, it hurts when I do that.
The doctor replies, So don’t do that!
Bottom line: I’m inspired not to spend $40,000 at a time on six-month supplies of Dilaudid pills and fentanyl patches – both highly addictive opioid painkillers.
