Sophia Loren and Jayne Mansfield
This comment by Amber on the post Why I Love Full Figured Women
I’ve always been curvy and I’ve never had a hard time attracting the men I’ve wanted. I’ve never been rejected. I guess I’m lucky and had good experiences. My boyfriend thinks I’m so incredibly sexy and he’s a skinny white British boy! Haha. The other day he said “I don’t know why most men are only attracted to thin girls” and I responded “there’s nothing wrong with being thin, all body types are beautiful and there’s nothing wrong with that preference. But I’ve found that it’s just not true. Most guys want beautiful women, and beautiful women is a broad term. Healthy, confident, curvy and self respecting is beautiful and most men love it.”

Question of the Day:
Isn’t it a good thing that people are naturally attracted to different kids of shapes and sized, since we are all different kinds of shapes and sizes?

I think the point the article and this comment are trying to make is that there is a lid for every pot and every person, male or female, are attracted to different types and they are all equally valid. One should not be made to feel bad if they are attracted to slim, full figured, muscular, athletic, petite, zaftig and everything in between, nor should any of us be made to feel awkward or unattractive regardless of what category of shape we fit into.
The term “voluptuous” comes to mind when I see Jayne and Sophia. But we have to be careful what we say here in that it can be construed as “objectifying” women and by all means, don’t be in a cafe’ somewhere looking at the above picture, you’re suppose to divert your eyes.
So with all the articles here at DMP that address “objectifying women” how is it that this article isn’t being scrutinized?
Useless fact ….. Mariska Hargitay of Law and Order SVU is Jayne’s daughter
I agree. I don’t buy the premise that men are attracted to only one type of woman.
