This comment by Louise on the post 5 Reasons Why Men Must Give Up Porn
I am female and I watch porn daily. I don’t see it as an addiction. Yes, there are times when I don’t need the visual stimulation and I am capable of pleasuring myself without it. However, I enjoy it. To suggest that porn leads to lack of sexual motivation is to suggest that the problem lies with yourself, not with the ‘porn’. It’s like anything, if you have an excess of whatever (that could be drinking, smoking, eating, etc.) then you have a problem. And of course there are certain aspects of the industry that are dodgy; this happens everywhere, in every capacity. I would never personally want to get into the porn industry, but I know some people who are involved and the requirements for sexual health and safety is in abundance. This article is merely a revelation of your own issues. Everyone is different and it’s how much you’re willing to let it affect your life. I will continue to watch porn and enjoy it. But that’s because it doesn’t dictate my life.

Question of the day:
Just because some people can’t handle porn and it distorts their life, should the rest of us be denied?

Thank you. I only wish the anti-porn crusade would pay some attention to you. Whenever I bring up the fact that women also consume porn, I’m accused of “derailing” the conversation. Maybe the crusaders don’t respond to you because you don’t fit their theory? The ones with the most certainty in their beliefs would probably say that you’ve been brainwashed by the misogynist patriarchy.
HAVE you been brainwashed by the male-dominated media? What would you say to that?
It’s “moar likely” than you think?
