“Go F**k Yourself, Trump!”

This is a comment by The Wet One on the post “Blitzer/Trump Birther Showdown“.

I think what we’re seeing is modern day racism. Have you ever heard of any past WHITE presidents having to prove their place of birth? Having to have an authority (namely Hawaii vital statistics or some such) produce the birth certificate? Having it still questioned years after producing the birth certificate (including by the Arizona election authority: http://news.nationalpost.com/2012/05/23/obamas-birth-certificate-gets-arizonas-stamp-of-approval/

Maybe that has something to do with it. Maybe, just maybe, Trump is an out and out bigoted racist red neck (with the hair to go with it).

Maybe we should start calling that which walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and acts like a duck, a duck.

But maybe the GMP isn’t courageous enough to do this.

It seems fairly clear to me that in Trump’s mind, it can’t possibly be the case that a man who isn’t white can be president, just like many of his fellow American. It seems like he still holds this belief (much like the ignorant Arizona state authorities) notwithstanding more than adequate proof to the contrary provided by Hawaii. It seems pretty damned clear that Trump et. al. are racists and should shut the eff up and sit goddamn down on this particular issue. Obama can be trashed for plenty of things (heck maybe even policies and things that matter). This sure as hell ain’t one of them.

Go fuck yourself Trump, preferably with one of those towers you’re so admired for building.

    Er…

His smear tactics seem to be more partisan than racist to me.

A fine rebuttal. One I’ll have to consider. But I’ll settle with my original statement. Racist, weird haired prick!

    BTW, where exactly in this:

“Donald Trump weighed in on reports of Herman Cain’s record of sexual harassment allegations Wednesday in an interview with Fox News, suggesting that the GOP presidential candidate was being unjustly hounded by the media based on claims that may not have merit.

“I think it’s a very ugly witch hunt and I think it’s very unfair. You say, ‘Oh, hello, darling, how are you?’ And you get sued because you’ve destroyed somebody’s life. It’s ridiculous. And I think it’s very unfair to him. And unless there’s something that we’re not seeing — meaning you, I, and everybody else — I think it’s a very unfair situation,” Trump told Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren.

Van Susteren then spoke about the complications of having anonymous accusers behind the allegations and said she could understand why they wouldn’t want to come forward. Trump disagreed, however, and suggested that the women wanted the attention.

“They probably do love their names splashed across the front pages. And frankly, I think that’s not a good situation and I don’t think it’s a fair situation,” Trump said.

“And I think Herman should take very, very strong action, even if he has to bring a major lawsuit against the women,” Trump continued. “[I]f I were Herman and if these things turned out to be false or inaccurate, I would bring a major lawsuit against the women that are saying it.”

Three women have so far alleged that Herman Cain made inappropriate sexual remarks and gestures during his tenure as head of the National Restaurant Association in the 1990s. The two women who filed formal complaints received settlements, while a third was recently contacted by the Associated Press as part of its investigation into Cain’s conduct.

Cain has been anything but consistent in his explanation of the incidents, and much of his campaign’s focus has turned to accusing primary rival Rick Perry’s camp of leaking the story.

    As the Associated Press reports:

The finger-pointing came as Cain fought to contain the fallout of the allegations that were made public just two months before the leadoff Iowa caucuses and with polls showing him near the top of the pack national and in early voting states. The allegations — and Cain’s shifting answers to questions about them since they were first disclosed — threaten to undermine a campaign that many establishment Republicans long have viewed as a long-shot to win the party’s presidential nomination.

The Perry campaign has denied that it had anything to do with sparking the firestorm now burning in Cain’s campaign.”

Did Trump say he thought Cain would be a fine president? Being the victim of a witchhunt is not the same as saying this black man is a worthy candidate for president, or am I missing something? So far as I can tell, Trump didn’t say a single positive thing about Cain. Could you point out what I should taking from your link?

    • Peter Houlihan says:

If he was really opposed to the idea of a black man becoming president, then would have been an excellent time to strike out against Cain. I’m not saying Cain was his favorite candidate, just that he clearly wasn’t completely against him.

      • The Wet One says:

If he was really supportive or positive on the idea of a black man becoming president, that would have been a great time to support Cain as such. A black man who was worthy of becoming president and that these were mere distractions taking away from such a candidate by playing on the black man as sexual predator fears, even if he wasn’t the best candidate.

        Just sayin’…

Could go either way I suppose, but I still stand by my call.

        • Peter Houlihan says:

Maybe he just thought Cain was a poor candidate? Personally I’m glad he’s not in the race.

This article http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/victory_lab/2012/06/racicalization_michael_tesler_s_theory_that_all_political_positions_come_down_to_racial_bias_.single.html discusses some of the research done on how Obama’s race plays into American politics and people’s views.

Given that Trump’s birther bullsh*t has been completely debunked (and recall Arizona’s state agency tried to pull the same horse dung to keep Obama off the presidential ballot. My god, what kind of backward ass country do you Americans live in?) by the Hawaiian authorities, is he trying to capitalize on this sentiment that researchers have found to harm Obama (and by extension all American’s with “one drop”)? The thing speaks for itself in my view.
