This comment by CW on the post Guns Don’t Kill People, Gun Culture Does
You don’t understand my point. I believe gun control advocates only care when shootings happen in their neighborhoods and only want to restrict the weapons owned by their political opponents. Your response makes no sense in the context of the discussion.
+++++
Food for Thought:
How does which neighborhood the killing happens in and what political affiliation the killers have change the fact that human beings have been killed

One more for thought, “more guns means more violence” http://www.policymic.com/articles/91007/one-map-shows-how-devastating-u-s-gun-violence-is-compared-to-the-world
In America you are more likely to die of gun shot that a resident of any other developed country
And in the US we have the most guns per capita in the world by far
It’s not a pretty picture and I neglected to mention suisides as another major number of gun deaths.

The good news is that crime is on the decline (as is gun ownership and stats are in my article A Day w/o Gun Sanity = A Day with Senseless Death & Heartbreak
https://goodmenproject.com/ethics-values/day-wo-gun-sanity-day-senseless-death-heartbreak-tsg/) which brings up the question why do you need all these guns out there?

So I guess I misunderstood what you said. It appeared that you were saying that domestic disputes or accidents (majority of deaths) represented the majority of deaths by guns. What you were actually saying is that in domestic disputes and accidents, that the majority was with guns. Which is a lot different then those numbers representing a percentage of overall deaths “deaths by guns.”
Just curious, those “other countries? … what do they generally use as weapons? Can they not take their campaign further and now legislate that which is more commonly used as a weapon? Once we’ve eliminated guns from our society and people resort to other weapons, what do we do then? But before that happens, when John Q public gives up his guns, what will they do to fend off the predator who still has the illegal gun?
“domestic disputes or accidents (majority of deaths)” I would appreciate your providing me with where you obtained this stat?
The concept that gun control advocates care where people are being murdered and the political affiliation of the killers is absurd. Gun control is about sanity and solution to the thousands killed each year by gun, be it domestic disputes or accidents (majority of deaths) or by murders and mass shootings. Every country that cracked down on guns was rewarded with substantial reductions in deaths. Why not us?
