It’s not laptops or smartphones or clothes or TVs. These things are fundamental, cost nothing, and are a lot harder to get.
Ask someone what they want and you’ll usually get a list of things. You might get some daily needs like a job or money for rent or food. More rarely you’ll get a wish for social justice or social change, although recently those are getting more common.
One thing that many of these have in common, particularly social justice and social change is that they require change on the part of others, sometimes large numbers of people or whole institutions.
Those are things on this want list. Are they too much to ask?
