When people talk about male privilege the conversation normally stays within expected parameters. For example not getting catcalled, not being told to use more/less makeup, never being called “hormonal” or “ditzy.”
But one of the very real horrors of male privilege is the fact that violence against women is often shrugged off. That is, if it’s brought up at all.
Violence against other men is okay too of course.
Time after time we make up excuses for violence so that we can move forward without having to change or address the heart of problem; which is that there are acceptable levels of violence within this social thing we call “masculinity.”
I was shopping for food yesterday and a little boy was pushing his Mom’s cart. I moved out of the way but the kid aimed right at me to mow me down with his cart before Mom stopped him. She apologized for him to me, never said anything to her son and to me said “He’s just a boy, boys will be boys.” I didn’t say a word but ceratinly made me think about the GMP and how both men and women can contribute to the idea of “boys will be boys”.

There are millions of sites on the internet that talk about Violence against women, the US passed a huge law that only talks about VAW, CNN, CNBC even FOX has daily articles talking about it.
Yet this OP and many others keep saying “No one is talking about VAW”.
And that’s why I asked if the “graduation” was HS in that the artist may be too young to know all that’s been talked about by many.
I think his website might have more details if you were feeling Sherlockian.
He may be talking about violence against women in more forms than the news and the vast world of the internet. And his definition of violence may encompass more than the beatings, rapes, or shootings that get’s news coverage. The threats that women get when they turn down or ignore their cat-callers doesn’t make the news until she’s stabbed.
