Teaching children to define themselves with outdated clichés isn’t good for anyone. GoldieBlox gets it.

We here at the Good Men Project are always sharing the various ads and commercials we find around the Internets that showcase fathers and/or families in a positive light, or as I like to call it “real life.”
Needless to say, when I stumbled upon this video for GoldieBlox, a toy company that believes girls “deserve more choices than dolls and princesses,” not to mention a mastery of Rube Goldberg machines and a healthy passion for the Beastie Boys, I was hooked.
After all, one of the greatest gifts that we can give our children is the destruction of stereotypes.
Yes, the machine featured below was actually created by the guy that made the one in the Ok Go video, but I’m okay with that. The message remains, “…femininity is strong, and girls will build the future — literally.”
Share this with your daughters and everyone that loves them.

I think it is good to break down stereotypes that girls have, though with the “boys are dumb” and “smart boys are geeky” stereotypes, it certainly applies to both genders.
