Kids offer great insight into the world without all those muddlesome adult issues.
I asked my second grader how school was.
“Dad, do you know how to spell second grade?”
“I hope it’s better than your I-C-U-P joke from last year.”
“Not a joke, Dad.”
“How do you spell second—”
“B-O-R-E-D. Bored, Dad. 2nd grade is boring.”
It was day two.

A friend of mine had his son coming home from first day in first grade:
“Hey, how was school?”
“Meatballs were okay, math is boring, can I go out and play now?”
