President Obama’s response to girl with two dads: What matters most of all is the love we show one another.
Jamie McGonnigal, the Founder of TalkAboutEquality.com, posted on the Huffington Post today this awesome call-and-response from a ten-year-old girl to President Obama. Last week, McGonnigal posted a letter written by Sophia Bailey Klugh wherein she praises the president for agreeing that “two men can love each other.” It’s a heartfelt letter, as McGonnigal put it, that addresses the girl’s hurt feelings at the “gross and weird” reactions that she gets at school. President Obama responded, equally as heartfelt, ending with an apology for being unable to make it to her dinner invitation.

Speaking as the gay dad of a daughter (and soon to be a grandpa!) I am compelled to point out how self-assured the daughters of gay dads are.
