Bill Griepenstroh wanted to capture his love for his young daughter and found a beautiful way to do it.

Every dad has a moment of realization when it becomes painfully obvious that his children are not frozen in time. Maybe it’s when the kids start walking on their own or reading or riding a bike. Or maybe it’s something as simple as the dad looking into their faces and realizing that he can’t see any traces of the babies they used to be. It’s a moment that can hit a father like a ton of bricks and, realizing that his moment was approaching, videographer Bill Griepenstroh decided to do something about it.
As a keepsake for his two-year-old daughter, Griepenstroh created this truly heartfelt and beautiful video message that sums up his feelings about their relationship:
My Little Girl from Bill Griepenstroh on Vimeo.
The images of them playing together and Griepenstroh’s earnest expressions of love really do a poignant job of capturing a moment in time, which seems to be what Griepenstroh wanted. As his narration states, “She won’t always be a little girl. But she’ll always be my little girl. All I can do is be thankful, thankful for every moment that I’m blessed to be this little girl’s daddy.”
It’s a gorgeous video that flagrantly wears its big heart on its sleeve, and it’s hard not to think about how lucky Griepenstroh’s daughter is to have such a moment of pure paternal emotion preserved on film for the rest of her life. (It’s also hard not to think about how inadequate every other parents’ baby book now seems in comparison.)
