100 Words on Love, by Cassondra Combs
–
Bacon. Coffee. The warm breath of the the steam. The lake behind us. Feeding me with your hands. Whiskey in our coffee cups. The way we walk together through the woods. The words you say to me. Card games, soft touches, two sleeping bags in a one-person tent. Accidental moments of nudity. Brushing our teeth together over the fire pit. All of our dreams, our thoughts on humanity shared with nostalgia as if we’re so far away, none of it matters. Your smile is every reason I have. I should’ve said I love you. I should’ve said “Marry me.”
