100 Words on Love, by Allan Mott
–
A paper cut on the fold of skin right by my thumb; a splattered grease burn on my arm; a Toby Keith concert; a punch in the jaw from a heavyweight champ; a kidney stone; a stubbed toe in the dark; a Sarah Palin book signing; a dislocated shoulder; a bruised shin; a pinched nerve in my neck; a compound fracture; a sudden tightness in my chest; coughing up blood; a job in telemarketing; a canker sore; a Big Brother Marathon; “It’s malignant”.
I would take them all at once rather than face one single terrible word.
Unrequited.
