There are so many things that are fun to do while single. It really can be a field full of the greenest grass.

It seems like that cliché’ about the grass being greener is a pretty popular saying when it comes to romantic relationships or the lack there of, but being single can be a field full of the greenest grass.
Here Are 20 Such More-Fun-Single Things:
1. Going to the Movies
Being single means getting to pick whatever movie you want to see; no arguments, no compromises—just you, that bag of carrots and hummus you snuck in, and your new movie boy/brofriend Channing Tatum.
2. Going for a Run
Just you and the path, no distractions, no need to keep pace with someone else; when running alone you can go as long and as far as you want.
3. Cooking
Yeah, sometimes it’s nice to share a delicious concoction with your lover, but it’s also nice to have leftovers; deliciousness over and over again.
4. Dancing
Ever have a partner that hated to dance? Or was really really, really bad at it? Were you the one really bad at it? Now it doesn’t matter! Single dancing is way more fun because any and all moves are possible regardless of talent; there is no need to look sexy. It’s all about becoming one with the music and just letting go.
5. Watching an Entire TV Series on Netflix
No need to wait for anyone to come over or get home from work. The show can go on and on at one’s own desire.
6. Going to Yoga
There are so many nice yoga bodies in the world; when you’re single, there’s far- less guilt checking them out.
7. Sleeping
Hog those sheets! Sleep at a diagonal! Or upside down! Any which-way works when sleeping alone. No need to worry about morning breath, or who’s going to be the big spoon, or accidentally farting really loudly while asleep. Single sleeping is the best.
8. Doing Whatever You Want in Bed
Eat crackers. Sleep with that book. Having a mini dance-party on top of the sheets. No one is judging.
9. Masturbating
This is the big event when you’re single—might as well make it romantic. Light a few candles. Take a bath. Invest in a decent vibrator, or lubricant, or both (I recommend the we-vibe touch and sliquids organics). Take time exploring because the more one knows about their own body, the better they can help a partner figure out the right moves later on down the line.
10. Cleaning
Because when you’re single, it’s only your mess.
11. Girls/Guys Night Out
All your friends will be telling stories of how their partners annoyed them in some way, all you have to do is drink martinis and nod. They’ll ask what you’ve been up to and that’s when you get to tell them about your newest YouTube video, a rendition of Tina Fey’s “Night Cheese.” They will be both impressed and jealous. Plus, when single and out and about there’s more likelihood that connections will be made with new people and meeting new people is always fun.
12. Going Shopping
No one really likes going to the store with their partner when they need a new wallet or to buy new slacks for work, but people do it out of love. When single, shopping can be done quickly and painlessly—or peruse for hours, no one to answer to but you.
13. Working on Creative Endeavors
Being single is the perfect time to start writing a book, or recording a new EP. Maybe become a YouTube sensation with your remarkable ability to imitate Tina Fey. Other options include but are not limited to: knitting, making jewelry, painting, sewing voodoo dolls of exes, or maybe bedazzling every pair of jeans you can find. When single, there is much more time for these kinds of shenanigans.
14. Learning
What better time to start taking a new class or to begin a new hobby? Being single is so much fun there’s even time to read The New Yorker—and the best thing about readingThe New Yorker is that helps with JEOPARDY! and there isn’t really anything better than being good at JEOPARDY!
15. Driving
Play that Mariah Carey song. Bust out a little Dr. Dre. Pick that nose. No one is watching (except maybe the driver next to you). Have a red light mini-meditation or maybe even cuss under your breath at the car that cut you off. It’s all much more fun when there is no passenger seat driver to be responsible for or who tries to turn it to Eminem when you’re clearly listening to Lorde.
16. Hiking
Trees. Trails. Tulips. Hiking alone gives you time to be with nature exactly how you want to be with nature.
17. Holidays
No need to split family time or feel awkward about not inviting your new flame to Thanksgiving; the only thing you’ll have to worry about is dodging those pesky relationship questions. Solution: “I’m single and I’m having the best time of my life.”
18. Having Diarrhea
This is never fun, but it’s much less traumatic when no one else knows about it.
19. Telling Jokes
When single, the same jokes can be told over and over without anyone knowing the punch-line! This is a good go-to for any age-range: “What did the zero say to eight? …Nice belt.”
20. Traveling
Sure, sometimes it’s fabulous to have experiences with someone else, but it’s also amazing to go some place new and completely immerse in the culture. Traveling for work is easier, as is moving to a new state for a new job (or just to start anew). Choices are yours—they’re exciting and less hassle while flying solo.
