B.O.L.D member Rashaun “DJ Reezey®” Williams is amazed at Wuhan, China’s sustainable skyscraper.

Wuhan, China will soon be home to the world’s 4th tallest skyscraper, which will do more than scrape the sky, it’ll actually clean it.
In a world where business owners and governments believe that environmental action means economic destruction, this architectural and engineering innovation creates a new precedent on what it means to go green and do green.
If any part of the world could benefit from purer air, it is most certainly China. Southeast Asia and many Western Pacific regions in particular, are plagued with large quantities of air pollution. In 2012, the air pollution in China resulted in over 3 million deaths linked to indoor air pollution, and over 2 million deaths related to outdoor air pollution. Couple that statistic with those who perished in other areas of the planet, and the world that year lost nearly 7 million people.
The towers that’ll soon be built in Wuhan, China will change the climate, and hopefully inspire other companies to engage in unique forms of econology. The new construction will feature thermal chimneys, solar power, rainwater harvesting, and wind turbines. So, here’s why you should care about those items even if you don’t live in Wuhan, China.
- Thermal Chimney
Thermal or solar chimneys improves the natural ventilation of any building. So when you consider the frigid winter the nation experienced in the last two years and the dangerous heat waves during the summer months, working and living in a building with improved ventilation brings in a bit of heaven when temperatures seem to be at hell. - Solar Power
The sun is a gigantic ball of life and energy to our galaxy. If you’re a business, one of your main concerns is the return on investment (ROI). The return on investment of a solar panel is more than just reducing the levels of CO2 released by your business, it lower your dependence on energy suppliers, lowering your energy costs and saving you more money! - Rainwater Harvesting
As temperatures rise, increasing the amounts of rainwater drying regions receive is essential to the well being of a city and the environment. Water harvesting does more than just protect the environment, it saves money! - Wind Turbine
As extreme weather increases due to climate change, so will wind speeds. Just like solar panels and water harvesting, Mother Nature is giving us FREE energy. Consuming energy from small wind turbines will have the same return as harvesting water and capturing the sun’s energy.
Climate action has been a hot topic lately, and with eco-innovations being found at the core of homes and businesses, soon we’ll see complete economies that are 100% socially and ecologically sustainable. For now, however, Wuhan, China takes the crown for the most eco-friendly, man-made structure, raising the bar for the rest of the planet!
