A homeless man in Washington, D.C. is being honored for stopping the rape of a woman.

Ketrell Ferguson told NBC 4 Washington that he was just “at the right place at right time.” But his willingness to intervene has earned him gratitude and accolades all over the internet.
Around 3:30 a.m. on March 24, Ferguson was looking for a place to sleep. He heard screams and saw two people struggling. He thought it was a robbery, but it ended up being an attempted rape.
Ferguson grabbed a stick and brick lying nearby and attacked the alleged rapist.
“As soon as he lifted his head up, I smacked him with the stick hard as I could in his head,” Ferguson said. “He fell off the lady, stumbled and I smacked him again. And I just kept smacking him with the stick as hard as I could.”
Ferguson told the NBC reporter he had to get involved, because he has relatives who have been raped.
Thanks to Ferguson’s attack, police were able to find the bleeding suspect nearby about an hour after the attack.
“Even though I’m going through hard times, God put me in a place where I could help. I was at the right place at right time,” he said.

God bless this young man. I don’t know what kind of challenges he has that made him homeless. I do know that he was indeed at the right place at the right time. I pray that God will bless his life and set him on a path that will afford him a good life.
