Timothy Meanwell Feels Americans Are Becoming Overly Sensitive

America was built by men and women who weren’t afraid to take chances and tackle issues that seemed impossible. They took initiative, focused on what was really important and made sure that they were building a country that allowed for growth, opportunity, liberty, freedom and justice.
Today we have individuals who wish to appease and not to offend even when the perceived offense is simply truth not birthed from a place of hate or malice. From the highest levels of government to the neighbor, friend, co-worker, family member and random person on the street it seems we have become soft. We have become so soft to the point that a simple word, gesture, flag, t-shirt, etc. offends us to our core and our reactions are no better than a 3 year old throwing a temper tantrum. The words “no” or telling someone “that’s not right” have become words of fear or that we might be oppressing that person, group or whomever. We have become a society that instead of understanding and standing on the principles of discipline, order or justice – we hand out rewards and want to point the finger at someone else because of one’s behavior.
Taking responsibility is no longer a noble endeavor but instead you are looked as a failure because you were unable to cast blame on someone else for your actions. We protest for issues where our viewpoints, focus and resolve are swayed by pop culture and what the media tells us is important. We have access to more information than any other generation before us, however we choose to ignore or we are truly ignorant to what is actually going on. And yes the word “ignorant “is okay to say. It is not a derogatory word…it simply means that you are uninformed or lacking the knowledge of a certain subject.
Our attention spans are captured by reality television, Hollywood movies, so called musicians who haven’t produced music with any type of culture and media outlets with a political bias whether it align with your political beliefs or not.
Wake up America! Go back to your roots, remember why we founded this country and what makes us great. Inform yourself on real issues that truly have a tremendous impact on your life and those who will come long after you are gone. There are real issues out there that deserve our attention and need someone to stand up and say NO MORE! We need Americans who are not afraid of being informed and challenging themselves, their family, friends, co-workers, neighbors and strangers to stand with them. Do you remember this quote? “When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to affect their Safety and Happiness.” If these words offend you, then you have missed the mark.
We are better than this America! We still have amazing feats to accomplish. This is the land of the Free BECAUSE of the Brave. And being brave doesn’t mean you aren’t sacred or feeling intimidated. It just means we do it regardless of those fears for the greater good of all mankind. Do not let anyone tell you that it is impossible or that it can’t be done. Do not let anyone come in-between your dreams, your aspirations or your goals. God has blessed this nation with amazing prosperity and has afforded us to become the greatest nation on earth. If we are to forget God and try to remove Him from everything than we will surely crumble from within. God has blessed the U.S.A. with great power and with great power comes great responsibility. It is far past the time that we become responsible for what we were intended to do. Now that you are informed and no longer ignorant you have two decisions; first to either continue to ignore these truths and bury your head in the trash that is fed to you daily or second, you can decide to take a stand and show yourself, your family, your friends your government and people you don’t even know that you are not afraid and that you will fight for what is right. Commit yourself to staying informed and be vigilant. Stay the course and stand as you challenge the “status quo” and refuse to make decisions based on their popularity but instead make decisions based on your convictions.
The people we look back on in history who are truly considered as great leaders and trailblazers did not take the easy way out or make the decisions based on what was popular. They took a chance and tackled giants that seemed impossible to knock over. Are you ready to challenge yourself? Is this the America you want your kids to grow up in?

I kind of agree, so I’m gonna read it over again.
You must be referring to American wealthy people because for the last 35 years they have dependent on government to bail them out and pass laws that make them even richer without losing their own money. They have not produce anything nor do they build anything. The wealthy people rigged the “free market” where they don’t have to face competition and discourage new entrepreneurship. Taking risks? I thought that was gonna change in the past 6 years? All I’ve seen is a bigger gap between the rich and poor, so I guess in some respects, you’re right.
