Subjected to the horrors of prison including sexual and physical assaults, and threats on his life, a convicted murderer is convinced rehabilitation starts on the inside of one’s self. Not on the inside…of a maximum security prison.

Is confinement to a maximum security prison the best way to reform criminals? Generally speaking, probably not. But the American style of incarceration it’s the best way to fill some people’s pockets :-). Before a meaningful conversation can take place and decent alternatives can be discussed, the “business of incarceration” must be reformed.
He’s a murderer. Where do we put him so as to protect the rest of us? Just in case rehab takes too long and temptation comes his way again?
