Three years ago, David Good embarked on a journey to find his mother, reconnect with his heritage, and find the part of himself that was missing.

David Good’s father, an American anthropologist, was studying native indigenous tribes in Venezuela when he fell in love with Yarima, a member of the Yanomami tribe. After spending 12 years as part of the tribe, he invited Yarima to come to “his village” in New Jersey. They had several kids and Yarima seemed to adjust to American life well. However, when David Good was 5 years old, his mother decided that the culture change was too much to handle, and she left to go back to live in the jungles of Venezuela. 20 years later, David Good embarked on a journey deep into the jungles of the Amazon to reconnect with his mother. Today he leads an organization called The Good Project, which helps embrace and celebrate indigenous cultures.
