Travel to explore new cultures will change your life. Here’s a social entrepreneur using it to build leadership.

How do you engage young people by meeting them at their level? Kevin Paul Scott is the co-founder of the ADDO Institute, an organization that helps young people develop leadership skills through cultural travel. In this interview, he talks about how he grew his non-profit by sponsoring fun cultural trips with the intention to expose young people to different realities. He would take students on trips abroad promoting the fun aspects of tourism—like safaris and shark cage diving—knowing that simply being there would give the students the opportunity to see the needs and problems of that society. Inevitably, the stories the students brought home were about children they met who live on a less than a dollar a day and how that impacted their life.
