Today’s Comment of the Day was by Steve Horsman on the post “5 Surprising Ways Men Can Be More Confident In Relationships“
—
Confidence is an elusive quality which I believe can be learned as a skill. It’s not a personality trait – it’s a chosen character trait which can be developed and sustained.
I wanted to add to this:
“Confidence isn’t about control or certainty. It’s about letting go and getting comfortable with the uncomfortable.”I believe that doing this is possible when we learn that we have everything we need to respond to the consequences. Confidence is all about *knowing* we have the values, knowledge, skill, persistence and stubbornness to face, figure out, and survive anything that comes our way. When you KNOW this, the need to control anything or anyone goes away.

Sadly, we don’t teach confidence because if people had confidence we would not be putting up with so much stuff from our fellow citizens and bosses.
