Chasing a dream in order to live a passion …

“My earliest memories go back to listening to big band jazz on my dad’s open reel Ampex. Later on I’d use it to record my rock band’s rehearsals, in mono with one microphone. The tipping point for me was my first recording session in a real studio with my high school punk band. I can still remember the thrill of hearing our music played back for the first time. After that day, I knew I wanted to make and record music. There was no turning back. Thirty years later, I still get that feeling after a good session. It always makes me happy to see our clients realize that experience. One of the great things about the work we do is the diverse community of people we meet over the years. I’ve had the opportunity to work with Moby, Peter Gordon, Eric Johnson Trio, Michael McDonald, Stanley Jordan, and Andrew Bird, as well as projects for ABC TV, Vice Music, Warner Bros, and Atlantic.”

And so it goes for Pete Mignola, passionate Father, Husband, and Owner of Brooklyn’s Metrosonic Recording Studio who has just launched their crowdfunding partnership with RocketHub.
Affiliation with A&E Networks “Project Startup”, allows RocketHub the potential for broad exposure and expands crowdfunding’s power in a big way. It is estimated that ten years from now, as much as ninety percent of all seed capital will come from “the crowd.” This is not your father’s angel investor or Kickstarter.
Already Brooklyn’s premiere webcasting facility, Pete’s Live@Metrosonic campaign is designed to provide affordable, and accessible new media promotions for up and coming, and well established musicians alike, continuing the trend away from more traditional and label driven artist development. This approach will increase the artist’s exposure and provide a more “evergreen” environment and, longer shelf life for the artist’s visibility for each event or project.

Why do the Live@Metrosonic show? “Metrosonic is a recording studio and we’re all about good music. We love music. We live music. Anyone who does understands the epic experience of seeing their favorite band, or catching a brilliant performance of an up-and-coming act.” More importantly, by taking advantage of this new platform for business, Pete is able to provide a whole new breed of musicians and artists the same feeling that has fueled his pursuit of this career for over thirty years now. Audiences, and fans will have the chance to experience of potentially reliving a historical moment in music history forevermore, and Pete’s children, Bianca, Leonardo, and Kalisto will learn the joy that comes from doing what you love and loving what you do for the reasons that are important, like family.
