“I thought I was alone in my feelings and didn’t have a way to communicate about it.”

There is a major shift going on in our world right now. Men are coming together to fight the good fight. We are here to support each other. We want to be the best men we can be.
In order to keep me on my spiritual path with complete awareness and consciousness, I need to write. Writing is one of the many spiritual fitness techniques I use for my spiritual fitness practice. Good Men Project has helped me with this by consistently sending out writing prompts that inspire me to write on specific subjects. When I read these prompts, if there is a spiritual connection, I’ll write.
Why I love writing for Good Men Project is the community. To be involved with other men all over the globe, you feel that connection. This group of men is making a difference. Taking all of these experiences of the ups and downs of life and sharing it with the world is an act of courage.
We are showing that you can be brave by being vulnerable.
I now have a place to write that not only helps me heal but with the opportunity of helping someone else. That’s a gift! In addition I have read many articles that help me on my journey and have connected with likeminded men. This couldn’t have happened without the mission of The Good Men Project.
I’m a firm believer that this is just the beginning of the Good Men Project. As a male author, I see more and more men that want to share their experiences. For myself, most of my writings over the last twenty years were in journals and I didn’t know how to bring it to the world.
I thought I was alone in my feelings and didn’t have a way to communicate about it.
The Good Men Project now gives any man a platform to write and feel safe. Writing can be a first step for many of us in learning about ourselves, how to express vulnerability, learning how to persevere and getting to a place of loving oneself unconditionally.
The Good Men Project is helping to define 21st century masculinity. There are millions that come to this website every month and it’s only been around for five years.
I’m so thankful and grateful for Tom Matlock’s vision for creating GMP and am so very grateful and thankful for Lisa Hickey’s leadership in the company. Lisa is always there for me and all of the writers. To be a member of this community is very special and I continue to look forward growing my spiritual fitness lifestyle with Good Men Project.
Live Brave, Chris

I think I need a hug… I’m kidding a bit, but I’m pretty serious about what you address here. Some of my fondest memories, best of times, was in the company of men that I loved, admired and respected. It was an openness and honestly with them that paved the way for me, and its troubling that so man men are so isolated out there. This was brought to light when watching the movie, “stand by me”, in which the author ended with the statement that he’s never had such close and trusted friends since that time as a young… Read more »
You can also thank the computer, the Internet, and other social media technology for helping you and other men connect with each other where 35 years ago, you did not have the technology at the time.
