Everyone talks about recycling, but what about re-purposing existing items? Shipping container to lunch counter – the ultimate re-purpose!

As you might have guessed, I recently made a trip to the local landfill! Which always reminds me of the serious wastefulness that takes place on a daily basis. Never been to a landfill – put it on you calendar and let me know what you think after seeing it (and smelling it) firsthand.

The point is we can all be more conscious of wastefulness. I imagine most people know someone who is really creative at re-purposing items around the house. And not everyone has that talent or mindset. But, I can almost guarantee that the people you know would be happy to share their ideas. Even if they aren’t already on Pinterest!

I myself am great at re-purposing if it is related to wood or construction. Shelving, storage boxes, old furniture, etc is all pretty easy for me to find a use for around the garage or basement. Other household re-purposing, not so much. So, I count on friends, Pinterest, and any other source that works.

Okay, time to get off my soapbox. Wait a second, that soapbox would be perfect to transport some of my tile tools to a job site! See how easy it is!
Irony: A personalized license plate the reads “GOSOLAR”, on an old Ford Explorer!
