Marc Hudson, the director of 100 conversations, talks about about men, fatherhood, divorce, and custody.
–––
Marc Hudson is an amateur filmmaker, father of one son, and a social activist. He became frustrated with the family court system during his divorce several years ago. After the judge informed him that he was only allowed to see his son two weekends a month, he felt there was something wrong. He decided to speak with other fathers going through the similar issues. Those conversations spawned his current film project highlighting the issues noncustodial fathers/parents encounter.
Marc has documented about 25 conversations with fathers from all across Georgia. His goal is to complete 75 more. He will also continue to converse with representatives from the medical and educational sector (e.g. social workers, psychologists, counselors, educators, etc.) to provide more insight.
In this podcast, Marc talks about:
- Some background growing up without his father
- His journey from boyhood to manhood
- The challenge of divorce
- How the judicial system treats fathers who want to have custody of their child(ren)
- The story behind his project
- How does he get fathers in front of the camera
- How we can noncustodial fathers
- What legacy does he want to leave for his son
