Crossing over . . . our Sports Editorial Team takes a page out of the Sex & Relationships book.
________
1. There’s no better escape from the real world.
Imagine yourself at the ultimate playoff game. Your team is the underdog and has the ball and has a chance to score and pull out ahead.
Now imagine yourself with the person of your dreams in bed with you, you’re about to…well you get the drift.
When you are in one of those to moments, all of the rest of reality slips away. And it’s a beautiful thing.

2. It’s a guy thing.
Caveat: not really. Actually, not even close. But society sure does pressure guys to believe that wanting sex—and lots of it, is a guy thing. Ditto sports.

3. When things are going well, it can get very loud.
There are plenty of quiet moments in both sports and sex. But when things are going well, you might notice that it becomes hard to contain your enthusiasm.

Yeah, sex can be like that too.

5. It gets better with practice.
Practice is defined as not just doing something over and over—but doing things over and over while trying to get better at it. That’s how you get from a sports player to a champion. That’s how you get from sex to mind-blowing sex. Some people – Allen Iverson, we’re looking at you – just don’t get it. But for those that do . . .

6. It’s unpredictably awesome.
A major draw of sport is its unpredictability. You go to a game not knowing the outcome. You could be about to witness something thrilling, epic, and history-making every time you go. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. The awesome could happen at any moment. A player does something spectacular, out of the blue, it’s a moment of intense beauty.
Even in sport, we call this feeling “eros” . . . There’s a reason for that.

7. It’s a tantalizing combination of body and mind.
Raw athleticism is great, but it is fire, passion, and intensity that most often carry the day.

As the…um…great George Michael wishes he once said:
Sports is natural, Sports is good.
Not everybody does it. But everybody should!
And that’s all folks!
