A few tweaks can give you all the energy you need.

Entrepreneurs get mentally exhausted throughout the day.

I saw the old commercial just the other day from Dr. Pepper. “Charge! Get goin’ again with the Dr. Pepper Difference!” The commercial’s claim was that Dr. Pepper is the solution to daytime dreariness. The commercial suggested the peak dreary time for most people is at 10 a.m., 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. If you schedule a meeting with a cold bottle of Dr. Pepper, you will find new energy to carry you to the next scheduled Dr. Pepper meeting time.

Entrepreneurs get mentally exhausted throughout the day. Without the implementation of a cold soda, here are the top five ways I muster enough entrepreneurial energy to get through the peak weary times.
1. When I work out in the morning, I kick start my endorphin engine
There is much science around endorphins. I would never claim to be a scientist, but what I do know is that the little endorphins are responsible for excitement and enthusiasm. If I can’t get these guys out of the gate in the morning, a lunchtime workout is better than nothing at all.
2. Call your spouse
I have the habit of calling my spouse at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.—for as long as we’ve been married. Even if the call is brief, it is a breath of fresh air to hear about her day, and how the kids are doing. My wife is an extremely positive person, so this is a plus. However, if you need a positive pick me up at 10 and 2—and you feel you married Debbie Downer—let her know how important her encouragement is to you throughout the day.
3. I drink a lot of water throughout the day, but after a while, I’m water logged
My preferred beverage in the middle of the day is a cup of green tea. I’ll drink it hot or cold. It doesn’t matter. An employee who was second generation Chinese-American turned me onto green tea. Since then, I’ve been addicted. The little amount of caffeine in a cup is just enough to stimulate me.
4. My back is starting to hurt throughout the day
I find myself shifting and turning to adjust and accommodate. What my back is really saying is – stop sitting! Some say sitting is the new smoking. If so, I’m a chain sitter. To avoid the sitting all day, I frequently take breaks. I stand up, walk around, or walk outside for fresh air. When I return, my back says, “Thank you.”
5. Surf the Internet
I am like anyone else who finds it difficult to keep momentum going through the day.

What? Am I suggesting the biggest time waster? Yes. However, it is used more as a reward. It’s too easy to drift to ESPN or Pinterest throughout the day. Doing so can break up positive momentum. Why stop this positive momentum midstream? I suggest that you complete the project, and take a little mental vacation for a few minutes during your “Dr. Pepper Time.” Once you relax for a few minutes, go back to work.

I am like anyone else who finds it difficult to keep momentum going through the day. I need to play games with myself or mix things up a little bit. I try the cold soda method, but rarely does it sustain me for more than fifteen minutes. I read the other day, that hot Dr. Pepper is the new “in thing.” Before trying the hot Dr. Pepper solution, try one of the five solutions I personally use as a small business owner. Watch what happens to your enthusiasm throughout the day when you “Get goin’ again!”

I like using nootropics. It really helps with getting the focus, mental clarity, cognition, and motivation needed everyday as an entrepreneur and professional athlete. I have tried a few nootropics like alphabrain but have found Allysian’s Mastermind to be far superior. It’s all natural and made in a GMP facility in Canada so it ensures some of the highest quality in the world.
