Even as a young boy, Sean Croghan had compassion for anyone, the scariest of monsters included.

Dad had just turned the light off in our parents bedroom, right across the hall from Paul and I’s bedroom. Almost at the same instant, I saw Frankenstein stand up at the end of our bunk bed.
He looked right at me, I was too scared to make a sound.
Below me, Paul had already flown away to the moon to deal with his own problems. He made nightly visits from the moon, so he didn’t see Frankenstein.
I was scared at first. I thought he might try and suck my feet up… always nervous about what was at the bottom of the bedsheets… but… then…
I realized Frankenstein was just as scared and kinda sad too.
He walked around the side of the bed and put his hand on mine. I knew then we were going to be friends, and I imagined what a good time we could have tomorrow.
I shut my eyes and fell asleep thinking of my new friend Frankenstein.
