What’s an NFL dad to do, when his toddler son picks two other “favorite” NFL players? Kick the boy out of the house of course…
NFL wide receiver Andrew Hawkins is having a breakout season this year with the Cleveland Browns. This off season, Hawkins joined the Browns from their AFC North rivals, the Cincinnati Bengals, where he had played for the three prior seasons.
Even though Hawkins remains good friends with his former Bengals wide receiver teammates, the up-and-coming Mohamed Sanu and All-Pro A.J. Green—Hawkins two-year-old son seems to have a deeper bond with his dad’s ex-teammates.
In fact, in this video below posted by the senior Hawkins, the toddler names Sanu and A.J. as his favorite NFL players, a slight which resulted in the toddler being kicked out of the Hawkins’ household.
Obviously the video above is a playful joke from Hawkins aimed at Sanu and Green.
The picture below helps depict the actual love, commitment and endearing bond within the Hawkins family.
However, it’s safe to say that that love might be tested when the Browns and Bengals take the field against each other in a pivotal division match-up on November 6th.
Especially given the big games yesterday from Hawkins and Sanu respectively—Green has missed past two weeks with an injured toe—and the fact that the AFC North is knotted up with all four teams (Ravens, Steelers, Bangels and Browns) above .500 halfway through the season.

This is one of those occasions when context matters! My thought when I saw the headline was “OMG no…”
I still think it’s in rather bad taste, but I have a very conservative sense of humour.
Thanks for the comment David – context is important, I thought enough context was applied in this particular piece specifically the title “Funny NFL….” Regardless, you raise a fair point – thanks for the comment!
