You hear these kinds of complaints from dudes all the time but to me it doesn’t make any sense.
This is another one of a series a did a while ago. You hear these kinds of complaints from dudes all the time but to me it doesn’t make any sense.
I grew up a nerd, and I was teased for the things I liked. What can I say? Practically nobody in my school wanted to talk about Godzilla! So I became very protective about the things that I liked, even jaded.
And even though I’ll get into heated opinion-based arguments about Godzilla. I would never say that a perspective is irrelevant or invasive simply because it comes from a woman. You’d think the world was ending the way some people talk about it.
Change can be hard, but it’s inevitable.
Lot’s of interesting nuance in the comic. Note that the deeper down you go in the crush, the more brown/black the stepped on become.
The blonde white woman at the very top of the crush should simply grab the dudes foot and pull herself out!
I think that’s pretty selfish of her to take up a marginalized space…when a little effort on her part could shift everyone one rung up on the oppression ladder.
Thanks for silencing me mods. I like how you’re all for minority voices speaking out, but only when they agree with you, apparently.
#NOT YOUR FUCKING SHIELD.
As I may or may not have posted before, I disagree with Justin and the simplistic and biased gendered dichotomies; but I also know that some people who espouse these dichotomies thrive just as much on the negative attention as well. It doesn’t matter if, why, or how you disagree with them; or what points you bring to the table. The mere fact that someone does disagree only nurtures and and reinforces their inset notion that they were ‘right’ to be begin with. They equate the validity of their position in inverse proportion to how much push-back they get: ‘The… Read more »
There seems to be a bit of cherry-picking with regards comments here – This is the first time I’ve seen comments wiped off the board after they’ve passed through the spam filter and or moderation.
The title of this comic is “Geeky Feminazis”. It is insulting to my intelligence that you are insinuating that all men are geeky feminazis.
GMP is presenting this because part of “improving men” is confronting our peers, like Josh above, who continually miss the point of these comics. They are meant to illustrate the ways that CERTAIN behaviors by CERTAIN males work to further marginalize women. A “good man” should be well aware of why this is important.
I think that Justin oversimplifies things into camps of victims and victimizers , oppressors and oppressed, marginalizers and marginalized; all based on gender and ideology- if someone wants artistic or moral license to exaggerate for effect, then someone else is bound to point that out; as their own attempt at “improving” them, in return as well. Part of being ‘a good man’ is also being a nuanced person, not an ideologue; because the opposite of one ideologue is not another ideologue.
I think he’s implying that the women are being unfairly criticised as feminazis.
That said, if you’re looking for subtlety, nuance and factual accuracy, this comic series is not for you.
Jgorf-
Sorry, I disagree. This cartoon is simply a feminist SHAMING TACTIC, designed to belittle men. It is not an intelligent discourse about the topic. A Good Man also stands up to sexist bigotry.
It also implies that the only ones who hate the way CERTAIN PEOPLE have been flinging bullshit criticism at the game industry are white male nerds.
This is most emphatically not the case and comics like this that claim it is erases us. It’s a nice straw man though, because if you can’t come up with an actual reasoned response to criticism, you can just call your opponent sexist and racist.
Its like your own personal echo chamber.
Every single time the entire point is missed.
Enjoy your cookie and pat on the head from your feminist overlords.
