As Autumn deepens, the fungi start to emerge from the hidden world that lies beneath our feet.
–––
Neither plant nor animal, they are the connection between death and life.
For most of the year, they snake through the soil endlessly recycling and enriching this life giving substrate.
They now appear one by one, driven by that ineffable need to reproduce and continue their mycological lineage.
They are the founders of the feast of this abundance.
