The story of three good men in a big box store and one veteran whose wheelchair broke down in the right place.
____
Many of us know what it’s like when we’re going about our day, carrying a to do list of 50 million things and suddenly our car breaks down at the worst possible moment and worst possible time.
However, we can get out of our cars, get a tow, and rent a new one.
It isn’t so easy for Michael Sulsona, a Vietnam veteran who relies on a motorized wheelchair to get around. He’d been fighting with the VA to get a new chair as his was slowly breaking down.
Lucky for Michael, his chair broke at the Lowe’s Home Improvement Store in Staten Island, NY. He shared his story in the Staten Island Advance. David, Marcus, and Souleyman, three employees of Lowe’s stopped what they were doing, gave Michael a chair to sit on, and got to work fixing Michael’s chair to make it look like new.
It wasn’t until after the store had closed that they finished the job. When hearing Michael’s thanks and gratitude, the men simply called their act an honor and Michael was able to safely roll away home.
Men like David, Marcus, and Souleyman are reminders that good men are everywhere…even in a big box store.

This is a stereotype that didn’t make the lunch menu.
What do you mean “even” in a big box store? Why is that a surprise? What would lead you to think it would be unlikely, so that you would have to remark on it, that these guys were “even” in a big box store. You’ll note that the VA, run by the federal government has, apparently, fewer good guys than the big box store.
