Houston voters just overturned an important non-discrimination bill. Why? They are afraid of transgender men using women’s rooms. So, guess who has to use the women’s room —now.

Maybe can somebody enlighten me? Hearing this on NPR the bill had nothing to do with transgender going into bathrooms, but more on LGBT discrimination at business. Is this true?
The bill was actually about consolidating multiple non-discrimination laws into one, and adding a few more categories. Basically instead of having separate laws banning discrimination based on race, gender, occupation, disability, military status, etc. you’d have a single law banning discrimination on all of them, and the bill would add gender and sexual orientation to the list. Conservative opponents to the bill couldn’t actually defend discrimination, so they turned the entire dialogue around the bill into a farce about men wanting to claim identity disorder so that they could molest little girls in public bathrooms.
