Shawn Fludd doesn’t believe taking care of his children is not the most important thing anymore. What’s most important to him is how he takes care of future generations.

You read it right, I am done taking care of my children.
As a parent, some of the things that I plan to do to accomplish this:
- Make sure I instill great morals and values into my children through my words and my example.
- Work hard daily to make sure they have their needs met.
- Teach my children the importance of volunteering to help others. This is so vital!
- Be encouraging and positive towards them to help foster confidence and self-assurance. This positivity will be how they learn to deal with issues and affect how they raise their own children.
- Invest in their future and work hard to make sure I leave an inheritance to help ease any financial burdens.
- Show them what love looks like so they can show their children and grandchildren the wonder of loving others.
- Showing them what love looks like means acting and speaking in a respectful way to my wife, opening doors for her, holding her hand, etc. and allowing my children to see.
- Foster opportunities for them to have a great education, including saving to contribute to their college tuition. Teach them the importance of learning and education.
- Guide them in their faith so that they have an understanding of God and a strong foundation of belief in Him.
- Allow them to make mistakes (as hard as it is) and use them as a teaching/learning experiences.
Taking care of my children is not the most important thing anymore, taking care of them in a way that I can take care of future generations in all ways possible, is most important. I’m so grateful to have learned that it is not just about what I see now, but also about what I cannot see. I can and will make a great stamp and take care of future generations the best I know how so that they can take care of others.
Not only that, through Bear & Boo I want to create experiences for employees who are parents to impact their children’s and their future generation’s lives as well. I want this business to grow to a point where I can hire parents, allow them to make an income where they can comfortably provide for their families, all while being able to spend an ample amount of time being very involved in their children’s lives.
