Follow the money. This was spot on …. Great job Thomas. Ill/sick = medications. And this is where my industry of addictions is getting screwed over. When medications are brought into the mix, the insurance industry will treat that condition as any “medical” condition. The problem is that a lot of addictions such as marijuana, don’t require a medication. Accordingly, if a client has no “medical” need, they don’t get services. We’re having kids yanked out of our 90 day program at as few as 15 days. Why? Because there is no “medical need.”
