This man is considered a saint around the world, but that hasn’t stopped him from giving the most precious gift anyone can give.

Rhesus disease is a potentially fatal condition in which the blood of pregnant women attacks the blood cells of her own unborn child. It steals a chance at life thousands from stillborn babies every year without remorse, leaving parents beaten down and broken. In the midst of this tragedy, however, there is a hero.
His name is James Harrison, who has been helping women and their loved ones fight this deadly disease by donating his own blood every week, for 60 plus years. His blood reportedly contains powerful, rare antibodies that prevent women’s blood from attacking their own fetus’, and experts estimate that Harrison has helped save over two million babies’ lives — earning him the nickname of “The Man with the Golden Arm “. In fact, it’s said that nearly 17 percent of pregnant women are in desperate need of the antibodies in his blood.
A native of Australia, Harrison’s own life was saved by complete strangers–who donated their blood to him after he’d been in an accident at 14 years old. Their random act of kindness inspired him to do the same decades later–for literally millions of others.
“A number of mothers have come up to me and said, ‘Thank you for what you’ve done, because I now have two, three, four healthy children.'”
If it truly takes a village to feed a child—and if that child truly reciprocates, there’s no limit to what he can do. If one needs modern—day proof of that, look no further than James Harrison.
