No child’s wish is too extraordinary for photographer Shawn Van Daele.

The 37-year-old has crowned a toddler the queen of Candy Land, sent a young boy on a hot air balloon ride over the Pacific Ocean and another into space.
The Huffington Post reports for almost two years, the photographer from Eden Mills, Ontario, has traveled across Canada and the US to bring the imaginations of kids with serious health conditions to life.
The children simply tell Daele their wildest dreams, he works his magic and, before they know it, their fantasies are being played out right in front of them.
“I want to inspire the magic of childhood and let kids and their families who can use a little happiness in their life see that anything is possible,” Van Daele told HuffPost.
Van Daele’s full process is detailed in this video where he meets a boy who wishes he could live in the universe of Thomas the Tank Engine.

Sean Levinson loves writing almost as much as he loves ranting about politics. Elite Daily lets him do both, and he couldn’t be happier now that he’s finally putting his years at SUNY New Paltz to good use. When he’s not writing, Sean enjoys nature excursions, playing the guitar and the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Look for him on “Real Time with Bill Maher,” where he regularly appears in his most precious fantasies.
