Based on statistics, most leaders suck at their job. Here’s how to turn that around.

The majority of employees across the globe hate their leaders/managers. Truly. It is the #1 reason, by far, why people leave their jobs.
So, if you’re in a leadership position chances are you suck at it.
Engaging and meaningful work leads to job satisfaction, yet leaders can’t get a grasp on how to connect the dots in order to build team momentum –or they simply don’t really care.

Surveys, articles, and plenty of seminars remind leaders of the devastating problem of employee disengagement. According to a recent Gallup study, employees who are actively disconnected from their job cost the U.S. an average of $500 billion per year; gambling with product quality, contributing to carelessness, and severely affecting the bottom line of the company.
Most people in the workforce do not want to be at work, let alone work at work. Sure, your department might be getting things done, but only with half a heart and half of what they’re capable of doing. Engaging and meaningful work leads to job satisfaction, yet leaders can’t get a grasp on how to connect the dots in order to build team momentum –or they simply don’t really care.
So here’s a question for the small businesses and big ass corporations around the world who are reading the same polls, experiencing the same toils of employee turbulence, yet choosing to let it happen as if it’s just a reality TV show.
Why aren’t YOU doing something to help inspire and educate your leaders? Why do YOU remain a victim of revenue loss and employee retention when you have the power to instill a leadership development program in your workplace?
And if you’re a leader –shame on you for thinking you have to wait for a program in order to become better.
The truth is, people aren’t inspired anymore and they need help.
Employees are tired, unappreciated, and they lack passion.
Leaders are tired, overtaxed, and have lost their direction.
To make matters worse, leaders have lost their influence.
Their spirit is hanging on by a clinging chad; grabbing at random, half-hearted motivational attempts in order to keep a team moving.
But big or small, leadership development — held by individual leaders or large corporations — are miniscule in the grand scheme of economics.

Here’s an interesting eye-opener; executives overwhelming agree that great leadership can make or break a company, yet only a minority choose to invest in leadership development courses. Why? Because the return of investment isn’t clear, so before they invest serious energy into leadership development, there’s got to be a guarantee of strong outcomes.
Hahaha. Seriously? Knowing it’s the right move to invest in leadership development, yet not choosing to pursue the golden ticket to deeper employee engagement -even though it reflects the growth and success of the organization? How is this plausible? My ROI by holding annual leadership retreats have always hit the top of the charts.
With respect -there are stellar corporations who are active in applying leadership development courses who have proven the ROI is worth the investment. Example, CAT, Inc. has an entire University filled with support programs. But big or small, leadership development — held by individual leaders or large corporations — are miniscule in the grand scheme of economics.
The renewal of leadership will only happen when leaders once again respect their value and the value of others, when their faith in leadership turns fearless, and when they desire to deepen their gift of leadership in order to serve and strengthen others.

The reality is we need an emotional rescue, we need good leaders to be great by taking the reins and changing the direction of engagement. We need strong pathfinders; leaders who will dig deep, make a commitment, and help revitalize visions. The time to turn engagement around is long overdue, and leaders hold the key to fascinate them!
Do you have a burning desire to be a leader?
Do you have a positive influence over your team?
Do you know where you’re taking them –do they even want to go?
As a leader, YOU are accountable for the people under your direction. You are the host serving inspiration and communication and the one motivating them into production. Leadership is real; it’s an art -motivating real people to increase a company’s value.
If your company will not support a leadership development program I encourage you to find one on your own.
The renewal of leadership will only happen when leaders once again respect their value and the value of others, when their faith in leadership turns fearless, and when they desire to deepen their gift of leadership in order to serve and strengthen others.
Learn how to become a leader of influence and fascinate the crap out of them!
