The answer to the question depends on who’s talking.
BuzzFeed has released a new video in which several men were asked, “What makes a man?”
They come from different backgrounds and were brought up with different expectations of what it means to be a man.
They have different ideas of what masculinity is.
They know that people will judge them by different standards.
And they have a question for you: What do you think a man should be?

So we ask you…what should a man be? Comments welcome, and let’s keep it civil, folks.
In this respect, I think men have it harder. It’s ok for a woman now to be tough, heroic, brave, unemotional or any number of ‘masculine’ character traits. But for men to demonstrate ‘feminine’ traits such as getting emotional, nurturing, gentleness etc., it’s gets teased, tormented or even beaten out of them – usually by other men. This is the patriarchal paradigm at work.
How cool would it be if we just let men AND women be whoever they want to be?
“There is no right way to be a guy” …. that sums it up, doesn’t it? But we live in a society that sure says “That’s the wrong way to be a guy.” Why can’t men simply be men without someone saying “oh, that’s wrong.” All humans should simply strive to be better humans.
